I think there some excellent breeders on this forum, but there are a lot that I wouldn't consider buying from. I also know of a few breeders that claim to be ethical but definitely are not..they have a lot of people fooled. I even know of a couple breeders that a lot of members say great things about..but they are USDA licensed. So people need to be careful when buying a puppy, and buying from a YT member shouldn't be an exception.

So far as money - I would never buy from anyone breeding for a profit. From what I have heard, most reputable breeders that breed for the right reasons and the right way do not make much money, if any at all. I personally will only be buying from reputable show breeders from now on - costs of showing and health testing alone set a breeder back lots of $$$. The breeders I would buy from only have a few litters a year (or less) so I highly doubt they are making any money...if they are, it's not enough to support themselves without having a real job. If someone is actually making a nice profit, they aren't doing something right...
Yes... and there are many breeders on here that says they are ethical and everyone loves to buy their dogs but don't have a job and is living off the breedings. Not all, but plenty.
