I also know about having a passion for something, which is the kind of person I want to buy my puppy from. My guess is many of these breeders do make money, BUT it goes back into their dogs. For attending shows, taking care of their dogs, beds, toys, food, vet etc. I feel like breeders should have a passion for what they do........not see $$$ signs.

I have a passion for teaching.........for years I ran an in home preschool. By the time I paid for toys, puzzles, craft supplies, food, and wear and tear on my home, I made very little money. But, I was happy! It was what I wanted to do........it was a great "hobby" that I was good at and it paid for itself.

Sorry,,,,,,,,,just some rambling thoughts.

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I always seem to be in the hole. I just had a litter and it cost 2200.00 for any emergency c-section and we had one little singleton survive. If I do make anything it just allows me to put it back into my breeding program for the additional things my babies need. There is so much cost involved that you can't even imagine, but I love Yorkies and it pleases me so much to provide people with healthy happy Yorkie babies more then anything in the world.
