Do you breeders really make no money at all from breeding?? I am planning to buy a new puppy for me. (guess I'll share a little with my family too!) I am willing to spend $2,000 dollars or a little more from an excellent breeder. But, I would truly feel bad if they made no money at all from this. I know how much time, effort, love, vet visits etc. go into raising a litter. I know it is 24/7. I also know about having a passion for something, which is the kind of person I want to buy my puppy from. My guess is many of these breeders do make money, BUT it goes back into their dogs. For attending shows, taking care of their dogs, beds, toys, food, vet etc. I feel like breeders should have a passion for what they do........not see $$$ signs.
I have a passion for teaching.........for years I ran an in home preschool. By the time I paid for toys, puzzles, craft supplies, food, and wear and tear on my home, I made very little money. But, I was happy! It was what I wanted to do........it was a great "hobby" that I was good at and it paid for itself.
Sorry,,,,,,,,,just some rambling thoughts. |
