Both! Sometimes she gets in there all by herself and other times she falls asleep on my shoulder and I put her there when my arm gets tired. If she was on my shoulder, then I put a blankie on her cause she was so cozy on my shoulder and I don't want her to be cold.
This chair was the best investment I've made for her. She loves it and it's low enough to the ground that she can get right in it easily.
It's a childs chair from Bed Bath and Beyond.
