Dog How I broke my Yorkie from a bad behavior

We obtained our beautiful Yorkie Ginger about 7 months ago. She turned 4 years old in October. I really don’t know how we got along without her, she is the center of attention in our house. When we first got her we had very few problems with her. As she got more accustom to her surroundings she got more protective of her home. She always barks at the mailman or anyone that comes to the door, which is fine with us. Then she started barking at friends and relatives till it got to the point that she would snap at there feet and hands.

I talked to my vet and the folks at ARF. They all thought I needed to hire a behavioral specialist for dogs. Then one day while I was doing some research on pet specialist Ginger was barking and just raising heck with the gardener outside( as she always does) my aunt dropped and cookie sheet causing a loud crash. Ginger stopped what she was doing and jumped on my lap and stayed there for about 10 minutes without making a sound.

So next time we had company over when she started barking and biting I dropped the cookie sheet and she stopped and got on my lap. After 3 times she no longer barks or bites indoor visitors. This little trick work great for me and I didn’t have to go through the time and expense of a behavioral specialist . Just wanted to share this with you all in hope it may help you in some way.
