I pay more for my 500 sq. ft., 1 bedroom apartment than my cousin pays for her brand new 1700 sq. ft. house on 1/2 an acre in Tennessee. It makes me sick that I could buy a house in Tennessee right now. And living here in California, the thought of buying a home is sooooo far away! Our income is about the same, but she has a master's degree, and I have a high school diploma, so....
