Sweetie smells like her shampoo for several days after her bath, but the longer we go (sometimes several weeks in the winter when it's cold) we say she smells like a hamster..... I think the frito smell is the same smell!
My husband bathes Sweetie and he suppresses her anal glands. You usually don't have to worry about them until they are a little older - unless they start dragging their bottoms or acting like something is wrong with their behind - you really don't have to worry about them. Sometimes you never have to do them because they SHOULD naturally express themselves.
My girlfriend has a pug and the vet does hers, but she knows it's time when Dixie starts spinning on her butt!! It's funny to watch!
