Is he on Metronizadole? I'm not the biggest fan of this, though it's given so freely by many vets (some are finally becoming more cautious now). Over time (later in treatment), it can get tough on the pet and can result in nauseousness and diarrhea (which is, ironically, often what you're trying to treat in the first place).
