That's kinda funny really!! I too don't get to sleep in but I don't get barks as your Gidget gives, I get licks up my nose or in my mouth.
Well, you said the water shooting from the bottle doesn't work...Have you tried ignoring her? Maybe her "game" is to get your attention. As Schatzie, her biggest and happiest rambunctious (sp) time is in the morning. So, just maybe if you ignore Gidget she will realize that you won't be her play partner and maybe go find a toy or chewy somewhere to pacify her until you are ready to get up.
Just make sure she has a pee-pee pad, fresh water, kibble, or all the extra things to take care of those needed necessities in the mornings.
