I guess is a matter of personal preferences... I like my Luna in either size... I don't think 7/8 look excesively big thou... I just love any size of bows!
I have not used on her a double looped 7/8 bow... I don't make them... but she is perfect with the single loop one and the double looped 5/8. for me the 3/8 are best for pig tails... good luck!!! every yorkie is adorable in a bow, big or small!!!
