I DO agree with that but I DON'T agree with the statement that ANY breeder who doesn't have ALL their dogs evaluated by a show breeder and sells to pet homes is a BYB. (Not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, just my thoughts after reading several recent posts.) I'm sorry, I just DON'T consider myself that. That's a negative connotation and a "label" in some cases. Yes, I DO think that there are many BYBs and puppymills now, WAY too many...but to me that doesn't include people like me, who raise all their dogs INSIDE their home and breeds for quality standard pups, and who DOES NOT do it for money. I have never ONCE thought "hey I'll make some extra cash breeding, might as well." Not everyone can start showing immediately. I would love to do it in the future, but it's not right for me at this time. However, I don't feel that I'm doing anything wrong, and I stand by my decision to breed. I'm doing it for the love of this breed and the puppies that come from my dogs are excellent quality. I don't sell to just anybody. I'm probably one of the pickiest people you'll ever meet about where my dogs go, and you'll find very few breeders who care about and love their dogs as much as I do.
