Cry Omgosh, something so bad happened

We had a litter of pups last year. I gave my cousin a puppy, my favorite one, because she is my best friend and has done so much for me. They have had the pup for over a month now, and her husband and 2 boys (8 and 9) were so so very in love with him. She has an elderly miniature poodle who grew very attatched to him as well.
Now, my cousin is an awesome pet mom. She loves dogs almost more than people She is very dedicated to them.
Tonight something terrible happened. She called me sobbing. She was on top of her washer getting something from behind it that had fallen, and thought she made sure no one was behind her, and jumped down. She jumped down onto her little Luigi He died a few minutes later. She called while I was at church, so I called her back when I got out, and an hour and half later she was still sobbing, and so were her kids and husband. They loved him so very much. She feels so terrible and just cannot hardly catch her breath she is crying so hard still. She just kept apologizing to me. I told her not to apologize because she wasnt being irresponsible, it was a freak accident. I know she loved him more than just about anything and would never ever hurt him.
I just feel so terrible for them right now. That whole family was so in love with him, they are hurting like they lost a sibling or brother. I know some people dont understand that, but many of you do.
Please keep them in your prayers, I think it will be a long time before they get over this.
Tomorrow is her birthday too....what a sad day for her.
I feel so bad that I have been talking all day about my new little guy to her. I am just not going to say anything about him to her for awhile.
I dont know what to say to her. I feel so bad, but I cannot make her feel better. I dont want her to think I am being cold, but I dont know what to say. I just told her I cannot imagine how hard that must have been for her to see, or how terrible she must feel. I wish I could make her feel better.
