Fran, how old is Sammi? How much does she weigh? Can she stand to be without any other food except dog food for a day?? As long as you feed her human foods, you are gonna have problems getting her back on premium dog foods. I would suggest you put kibble in a flat dish and maybe pour something like water from canned tuna(mine LOVE that), or very small amt of chicken breast barely cooked, and moosh it all together with your hands so she cannot pick out any specific piece as being tastier than others. It is important that she eat properly given the problems Yorkies can be prone to such as gum and tooth disease. You might try throwing food on the floor a few pieces at a time as if they were treats. I actually use a different brand or dog food as the treats. I just put that kibble in a treat can and they don't know the difference.. |
