The surgery I had is called a Discectomy and involved the disk between lumbar 3-4, low in my back. Once they began the surgery they noticed that quite a bit more was damaged than first originally diagnosed. I was aware of the fact that it would take 6-8 weeks to heal from the surgery itself and then another 8-10 months ( perhaps longer) for the nerves and muscles to do the same, but I am still feeling a lot of pressure in my spine and cannot stand, sit, or do much of anything without a great deal of pain. It's a bit disappointing to say the least.
