I am sure that is where he got it. It was good that you notified the breeder. Coccidia is a bacteria that the pups usually get from the mom and it can lie dormant until the puppy or dog undergoes a stressful situation (like weaning or going to a new home). Coccidia is hard to diagnose unless the dog is actually having an outbreak. Many breeders state in their contract that they will not be responsible for parasites or coccidia. It would be good if the breeder does pay for treatment.
