I heard on the news when they did the report that in new construction the screens have to be the type that will not be able to be pushed out. There is no law about current buildings though.
Apartment management doesn't have to do anything for safety on their buildings already standing. Seems kind of odd to me. I have heard of several kids around this area falling - wouldn't you think something would be done????
