Default Baxter is Blue

Hello, Rick! Welcome! You've come to the right place!

Glad to see that you are doing your research! I didn't do a lot of research when I got Baxter. When I searched for Chloe I did though, and it truly makes a big difference-you know more of what to look for. NEVER impulse buy-you could end up with a Yorkie who has bad behaviors...take your time and pick the right one.

You are right, the color you are looking for is called blue. It's steel blue. It's kind of like black, but it's a blue tint-I am sure you know what I mean. I think the blue color is harder to find because it's more of the "standard" for the Yorkie.

All Yorkies are born black and gold. They eventually turn colors. Baxter took FOREVER to turn to see the true blue. He was over a year old before I really noticed that he was blue. He was black and gold for a long time. Chloe is black and tan also. She is supposed to be blue and tan whenher colors change.

What you really have to do is look at the parents. That is going to give you an idea of what color the puppies could be when they turn. The breeder should be able to tell you what colors they will be also. The breeder should also be able to give you an idea of adult size and weight.

Good luck in your search! They are truly the BEST breed of dog-I love them to death! They are everything wrapped into 1 tiny dog.
