She is old enough and it will be alot easier for you to start taking her out, believe me I tried the potty pads with my 10 week old puppy and it was horrible he would sometimes go on the pad and sometimes go on the floor. I hated to do it but I would take him out and if he did not go in 5 min I would bring him back in and put him in his crate wait about 15-20 min take him out again if he still did not go potty put him in his crate. We barked and whinned but I just ignored him. It hurt me because I just like to hold him most of the time. Know he will go to the door and bark when he has to go. It is sometimes so funny because he will dart to the door barking like he is a crazy puppy. But i am so proud of him. I was like you a couple of weeks ago. It is gonna be a pain in the but doing this every 15mins but it is worth it and when she does go give her a treat and praise her as soon as she does it. My puppy is home most of the day in his crate from 6-3pm when I am working. When I get home I let him out and he will go in his crate about 9pm sometimes even by himself and go to bed for the night. He is doing well. I also keep him on a eating schedule. He will ger up and eat about 5am and when the kids get home from school he will eat again at 330 and again about 8pm. I take him out about 10-15 min after he eats. So far this has been working better for me than the potty pads. |
