I have it! I couldn't make rice either. But found this recipe years ago & it works!
1 Cup rice, 2 cups water. (or 2 cups rice, 4 cups water...like that, thats the ratio).
Add some salt.
Then heat on stove until just boiling, then turn down the heat to really low. Have a lid on it. Don't lift the lid ever during this process. Set timer for 14 minutes (thats for the 1 cup rice/2 cups water ratio).
When 14 minutes are up, then lift lid & fluff rice with a fork. It works for me. It's an old recipe from an old lady in a cajun cookbook I have.
I use real rice, white (not the instant kind). This recipe it turns out kind of sticky, but I like it that way. |
