If your yorkies don't prefer to be inside with you could it be, perhaps, the lack of socialization? Meaning they have always stayed in an outdoor kennel and are leary of any other situation. That's sad. Personally I would never purchase a puppy from anyone who housed them outside. I think they need the interaction and socialization with people.
Btw mine aren't tiny, but at 60 degrees they still shiver if we're outside and they don't have sweaters on.
