Default UKC & a Full Tail...

I was delighted to see that the UKC has revised their yorkie standard to include the full tail. I know that not everyone likes the full tail, and I understand...I used to be one of those people...that is until I lived with one! I have to say they are so very charming. I thought it would throw off the balance of the dog...but not so...I could not imagine our two girls without their happy tails.

Here is the standard for the UKC to include the tail...we have a girl we would love to show with a tail, so we will let her strut her stuff UKC style this year!

"The tail is customarily docked to a medium length. The tail set is level with the topline, with the tail carried slightly higher than the level of the back. If undocked, the tail is as straight as possible, well covered with hair, and carried a little above the level of the topline. On an undocked tail the hair will be a darker blue than on the rest of the body, especially at the tip."
