Hi, im a hairdresser (well was before i gave up to have my children) We used to sell nioxin in our salon, but not for the reasons you mentioned. We used to sell to balding men, whom thought (as it advertised) that it would make there hair grow back thicker. It would make your scalp tingle as it is suppose to massage your follicles.
We did use it on a few women with very fine hair that was prone to breaking, and we found that over the course of a few months there hair did grow without too much breakage. The shampoo contains alot of protein, hence thicker, longer hair.
