I had a Cocker Spaniel years ago that wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I had a VERY hard time housebreaking her. We tried several different things before turning to the crate. We made sure that she only had enough room to lay down and turn around. She would Poop AND Pee in there everytime and then LAY in it. She didn't care at all. So the crate may work for some but it sure didn't work for me.
