hello all

i am getting a new yorkie pup in March and I am so excited! But, he will be 5 months old when I get him and the breeder has him trained to pee pee pads and she does not use a crate. She keeps him and the other puppies in an exercise pen. I live in an apartment and I am in school for a few hours during the day, so I am going to have to use a crate, and I'd like to train him to go outside. How will I go about doing this since he will already be 5 months old?! Is it impossible to change the habits he will have already learned?

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!
