It is easier to tell if you dog is roach backed by watching them move at a trot. If the back is humped up in the middle (like a Beddington Terrier) when the dog is moving then it is roached back. A dog with a roach back can be stacked to make the topline look level but it cannot be hidden when the dog is moving. Many yorkies have low tail sets and rounded croups but that is not the same as a roach back.
