my 5-month-old pup Peanut has been able to go up and down our deck stairs for about 2-3 months by now. our deck stairs are steep, wooden, and there are about 15-20 of them. however, we have carpeted stairs inside and she can't seem to get the hang of them. we live in a bi-level so there is a landing in the middle and each set of stairs has about 7 or 8 stairs in it. the carpet is a dark green, and i can't help but wonder if she is having trouble with her visual depth perception....
we've tried a few different times and every time is the same reaction. (granted, we need to really try more so she doesn't become a "special" dog who can't do stairs.) she just stands on the stair and she'll go up one or down one, but very very slowly. she shakes even...
any advice?
