I have the two breeds I wanted - a low maintenance Shih Tzu when our kids were little and we had to be gone a lot for school functions, on weekends, etc. And a hih maintenance Yorkie to fill my empty nest with the girls in college.

The other breed that we nearly got after seeing one a basketball tournament is a Japenese Miki. But at that time, they were failry rare and hard to come by here in the US. Interesting because the two coat styles look like completely different dogs. We wanted a long hair.
