Hi Welcome to YT.

If your husband is a trainer, then he probably has better advice then I can give, but I will relay my experience to you.

My guys would terrorize te cat. the cat would hid under the sofa and they would run around it barking, the noise was crazy. I'd have to remove them from the room one at a time, and then the cat would run downstairs. the dogs are not allowed downstairs.

I got tired of that game, so I took a clue from the Dog Whisperer, and decided to speak to them in their own language and let them know that the ct wass mine and I was the pack leader..

When they started in on the cat, I bared my teeth and growled at them, a low growl. they responded immediately. One was very presistant, and I had to use my hand to give her a few nips on the sholulder until she got the message.

Now I can control them from across the room with just the low growl.

It worked for me.

With yours having been in 3 different homes, you have no idea what he has been trhough in the past, but showing him that you are the pack leader will give him a sense of security and should help him to settle in.
