My two are both the same way...they hate baths, but LOVE going for a swim in the lake. I can't figure it out either. Maybe it has to do with smelling BAD like Lake water and GOOD like shampoo.
This is going to sound terrible, but we just don't give our two a choice. The get in the tub, they get their bath, and then when we're done they can run circles around the house trying to dry off. We tried treats, but neither one of mine will eat treats in the tub. Like Marcerella02 said, we just use a calm voice, and are firm, but gentle with them, and we bathe them as quickly as possible. I think the more firm and calm you are, the more they'll relax because they know you're in charge. |
