Personally, I have been breeding for ten years and have never x-rayed and have only had one c-section (one big puppies). I never knew so many people x-rayed until I came here on YT. I find it curious because everyone one here advises that even if the vet thinks the mom might have problems passing the pups, to let the bitch go into labor anyway. Also, as far as knowing how many puppies she will have, I know that is not accurate with bigger litters. I had a friend that had two x-ray on two different bitches and the vet was wrong on both of them, one had one more and one had one less than the vet said. I really don't think it would hurt the mom but the best thing to do would be to ask you vet if he has any knowledge of any adverse effects of x-raying.
