He substained a head injury, road rash and a broken tooth. I am very blessed as well he is still with us 9 years later. He has complications with his brain swelling from time to time, but we are in this for the long haul. He is one of my treasured little ones. Keep giving Gus all of your kisses-he deserves them. It is awesome that owners of the attack dog was responsible and paid for everything, that is almost unheard of now days.
Your poor baby. How do you care for your baby when he has complication? I am so very lucky Gus pulled through with no lasting complications. He has always been a mommy's spoiled boy. Now he is being spoild by us all. Even my mother in law brings him something special when she comes over. It's funny because my husband,,,,, well I dont want to say he didn't care for Gus, but since the accident, they have gotten really close. At the time he was trying to be strong for me and took charge with rushing Gus to the vet because I lost it and there was no way I could even drive. The first call I got was very hard for him and this big tough man couldn't even finish telling me what the doc said without crying. Needless to say Gus is spoiled by all of us. We were just talking about it the other day and he remembers asking me what I want to do with him incase he didn't make it. All I remember is the room spinning and not being about to speak. And even now he gets choked up when we talk about it. I'm getting tearie eyed just thinking about it!
