OP---Glad to see you hired a lawyer. That was my first thought when I saw the pics of your car. Insurance companies will do anything to get out of paying a claim. My SIL was going to make a left-hand turn, saw that the car behind her was going to hit her, pulled onto the shoulder. The guy followed her, rear-ending her. Turned out the young man didn't have a driver's license and had a father who said nothing was his son's fault. Went to court, SIL's insurance fought the father and won. It was such a waste of time. Now-a-days no one takes responsibility for their mistakes. Just wanted to support your choice. Rear-end collisions can have long-term consequences. Best of luck.
