Personally I am a big believer in modern medicine.
Years ago if someone lived to be 60 it was a big deal.
That was why Social Security benefits did not begin until age 65.
Now people are living longer due to modern medicine and life style changes,
so the retirement age for Social Security is getting higher and higher.
Not to be offensive, but perhaps this could have been avoided if it had been detected sooner?
Regardless, I am sending prayers out for her sucessful recovery. Grandmas are so special.
