I agree. I can't believe that lady told the owners of the dog that it died and she buried it in the yard. What kind of person would say that.
It sounded to me like the owners were getting vet care for the dog but had to go a different route in the dogs treatment because of financial reasons. It also sounded to me like these people live right beside each other.
