Sorry, wrong wording. The inside sutures could break/come loose or something could even tear. I have no idea how you tell. Just make sure the incision itself looks good and he is acting fine. Also, make sure his gums are nice and pink.
I totally understand it is hard to keep them still. I couldn't crate Ellie either because she would've peed on herself and couldn't have a bath.
I held her a lot of the time. She did jump about 3 feet a day or two after surgery and did fine with it but it was not good.
She could've gotten seriously hurt.
I believe too much jumping could also cause an abscess or pus-filled "thing" to form on the inside that might have to be drained.
