The Yorkie standard says Yorkies should be under 7 lbs so any thing over seven lbs would be considered a fault, just like a bad topline, bad rear, bad bite, bad front, etc. There are Yorkies that become champions that are a little over 7 lbs but the bigger ones usually have a harder time finishing. Size is not a disqualifying fault but having a too dark or too light of a coat is. Any judge can withhold a ribbon for any reason if he thinks your dog is not a good representative of the breed.
