Sweetie,
I know just how tough this is on you right now. When Gracie was 12 weeks old she suffered a cluster seizure and went thru our vet to the emergency vet, bile acid tests, liver panels, CT Scan of the head and abdomin..........I was a wreck........I prepared myself for the worse and read up on Liver shunts..........it is not always a death sentence and there are some "ring" procedures depending on the exact location of the shunt that are very effective with a very good prognosis.
Gracie's bile acid test was negative, CT scan was normal, and they concluded she must have injested ant bait or some other toxin. Her liver enzymes were elevated.
She has been fine ever since (she was on an anti-convulsant for 3 months and has shown no more seizure activity)
Please do not give up if bile acid comes up positive........and they find a shunt................they may be able to fix your baby.............do report this to your breeder.............I called her immediately.....even though there was no liver shunt...........One liver shunt in a line can be a fluke.........but 2 in a line should stop the breeder from any further litters
My prayers are with you.............please do find out the SPECIFICS on how long your baby must fast tonight.........call your emergence number.........the last thing you need is hypoglycemia on top of everything else
please keep us updated.......................... |
