 How did you potty train?
sophie is 2 months old.
When sophie needs to pottie, she wiggles excessively.
That's usually my clue to put her on her pad or take her out.
Sophie still doesn't comprehend that the pad is where she is supposed to go, and cannot distinguish that the pad is her potty spot. The only way she knows to go there is if me or my boyfriend put her there, and place her there every time she runs off of it.
I've tried everything, really. Praising her when she potties on her pad or outside, treats when she potties outside or on the pad, no punishment when she potties on the floor, and when i catch her in the act -- i put her on her pad. i know we do a bad thing by letting her sleep in the bed,
but it's something I've always done.
She NEVER has an accident in the bed and can hold it in all night (until about 7 or 8 am)
first thing i do when i wake up is place her on her pad.
she does her business and i praise her.
Basically, I'm stuck right now.
How long is this supposed to take before i see any kind of change? i guess a better question is -- how did you do it and how long did it take?? |
