Most likely you won't know if your gal needs a c-section until she is in trouble. Make sure that you study up and know the signs of distress as well as the amount of time allowable between pups during active pushing and inactive labor. Half of puppies born come into the world posterior (feet first) so this is the norm for them. Size and presentation is what you must watch out for and even an xray can't tell you all you need to know as they can move and grow until they are delivered. Good luck on your first litter.
