Yes, he does sound like a tough old bird. When dogs and pups are not eating
after surgery The University of Pa. Vet Hospital gives them Bil Jac Frozen. They
love it and it puts on weight so it's good through puppy stage. Johnny Handsome's
breeder told us once when the mother's wouldn't eat after having pups, she
would get Kentucky Fried Chicken and take the skin off and cut in small pieces.
While nursing they loved whipped cream from a squirt can!! I would never think
of giving my gal fried chicken (lots of other chicken) but with the skin off and in
the same desperate situation it's good to know there is something they will eat
no matter what. I think the Bil Jac route would be better for you. They have a
website. Good Luck , this little one has to eat but their tummy is so small, it
doesn't take alot.
