I can't remember where I saw them but I saw the cutest decorative steps and there was a space under the steps, kind of like a crate but they were SO expensive. Many wooden/carpeted steps in catalogs are also kind of expensive so I had my dad build some for Max when I first got him. I also saw plastic folding ones at target at one time, which were really cheap, but I don't know how sturdy they are. maybe someone has good reviews for those
