I thought that too when I saw the pictures. I've never had a pup under 10 weeks old, so I am not sure, but I know many of you have litters of pups. Isn't that young? That's why I'd think he would be acting like this:

I'm only saying something because I want you to know that life is hard for a little pup that age and he needs extra special care for a while. I'd hate for something to happen, it would be so sad! He is VERY cute and I like silkies too. Best luck with the new pup, and welcome to YT!
