Do you think that this would work or that it's "mean" to contain them in such a small space while they are so young?

We crate trained our Bichon which worked very well (she was potty trained to go outside very quickly) but I think Mariah is still too young to be put in a crate for that long yet. We are all gone for several hrs at work/school. The other problem is that we have been having terrible weather so I thought it would be better for her to be pee pad trained till spring. We are thinking about getting an x-pen to put in our kitchen - in the future.

I would really love to get her trained!

I would love to know what everyone thinks.
have you given it about a week with you at home praising her like crazy when she DOES go on the pad??? i think it would be really helpful if you could do that (PLEASE keep in mind i haven't paper trianed... Lay goes outside) but she needs to get the picture that that is wher eyou want her to go... so lots of love and a treat.. if you have tried that.. lol. i'm no help. sorry
