His vet's office said it isn't a big deal for him to lick but I can get a collar for him if I want the peace of mind but it can be stressful on dogs. I've been wrapping him like a burrito in his blanket so he can't get to it. I guess the meds are working but it's hard to tell with these little ones. We've been spoon feeding him and gave him water but he hasn't gone to pee yet which worries me. I tried to put him in his litter box with his pee pee pad but he just stood there shaking. I want to get him a little sister but I don't know if I can handle putting another one through all this. I am a total wuss! |
When my Yorkie was spayed and had her liver biopsy she couldn't really even stand up when she came home. It is a lot on them. I used a onesie for her, not an e-collar. She eats homecooked food then, so I couldn't really give her anything special. Maybe you could try some chicken breast, boiled, no seasonings, no fat or skin? That usually goes good. Maybe some plain white rice?
