I'm so sorry for your loss. I bet it does help that you were with him and he wasn't alone. I still get teary-eyed when I try to talk about my toy poodle, Daxton, who was 16 years old when he passed away almost 4 years ago. In fact, I was talking to our vet a couple weeks ago regarding my daughter working in his clinic and when he asked about Tatum and I tried to thank him again for all of his kind words when Dax passed, I literally started crying and couldn't speak. The pain does lessen but the memories will always be with you.
