I thought I would check just for the heck of it...I found a young vet in the area, he said the same thing 5-6 mos. The only way they will do it sooner is for the animal shelters(they have to be spayed/neutered) and sometimes 4 mos, but, only if they're marking..He said the same thing as my other 2 vets, that with smaller dogs, they like to wait until they're a little older...Usually they don't mature until 5-6 mos. so, that's why it's best to wait, plus if you wait until that age, and they have to have teeth pulled, they can do that while they're in there being neutered/spayed
