Default Oklahoma Legals

Oh yes, I am just a "hobby breeder." We have always had dogs and have given away several but do not ordinarily sell them. Even when we give them away we do the vet stuff and make sure they are eating well. This is our yorkies 2nd litter, but she only had one the first time and he went to older grandchildren.
But, I thought if I sold them I should cover myself with some kind of contract. Something like 48 hours to have them vet checked, ect. I thought I'd look at Oklahoma laws and try to draw up my contract accordingly. I guess it just blew me away that there are NO laws governing the sale of dogs in Oklahoma. Nothing to protect the buyer or the seller OR THE DOG for that matter. I think this is outrageous!
It is no wonder that Oklahoma is one of the worst states for puppy mills. It makes it easy for me to sell a dog and specify anything I want or don't want but certainly does nothing to regulate sales or protect the dogs.
Sorry, this just got me on my soap box.
I thank you for taking the time to answer me.

They should be dewormed, vacinated, tails docked, dew claws removed, and weaned from the mom. Any puppy should be eating dry puppy kibble prior to leaving the mom. Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can help further. Oh yes, of they are registered, AKC, APRI, ACA, UKC, etc. you must apply for a litter application so the pups can be registered.
