I was 36 when I had to have mine done. Endometriosis had claimed all of my girlie parts and I was to the point where I was in pain not only for my period, but ALL month long. I spent the last month before my surgery in excrutiating pain

I felt better immediately after the surgery, but I had to be cut from my navel to the pubic bone since the doc wasn't absolutely sure what was going on in there, the ultrasound and MRI just showed this huge mass in there, and there was talk of cancer. Fortunately, it was just endo.
Ask your doc about the bladder sling. I didn't know about that at the time of my surgery and now I have leakage issues, sneezing, coughing, and laughing too hard can result in me having to change my pants these days

Also, ask about hormone replacement therapy. They now have biologically identical hormones that are supposed to be much more effective and have fewer side effects

Good luck and make sure that you rest for the full recovery period, you might think that you feel better, but if you over do it, you will be hurtin' for certain!
