I can only tell you from my experience. At night take him to PP every three to four hours. When they get about 4 to 5 months old, they should be sleeping 8 hours. As far as PPing in the crate, you are giving him too much room. Confine him to an area that he can stand up, turn around and lay down. Also put a cover over his crate at night. During the day, when you go to work, then it's playpen time. No that is not stupid, it's very smart.

Good luck on your No Smoking. I too quit. I used Nicorette Gum. Then had to wean myself off of that. It's been 15 months now since I've had a cig. I fast pace walk now every morning and feel great.
