I had a hysterectomy when I was 32. I had suffered with endometriosis since I started my period at age 12.
Best thing I have ever done. Hubby was very supportive and afterwards commented on how much better I was feeling.
I had mine done vag. with a bladder repair. I kept both ovaries at the time & two years ago had to go back and have my right one removed.
I took 6 weeks off. Listen to your Dr about what you can and can't do.
I stocked my freezer with easy to make and cooked several home made meals before surgery.
I taught my kids (7 & 9 at the time) to do laundry, or at least carry the laundry to and from the machines for me and to vacuum (The Dr said that was a huge no-no).
My Dr was very adamant about not carrying anything for 6 weeks heavier then a milk jug or I could ruin all his work and have to have surgery again.

Best Wishes to you, you will feel so much better and the added benefit is no more periods...
